In this musculoskeletal ultrasound course video Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Schmidt talks about his experience on Giant Cell Arteritis and ultrasound. He describes the definition of the Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA), also called temporal arteritis – an inflammatory autoimmune disease of large blood vessels. The suspected diagnosis of GCA should be confirmed by biopsy and also by imaging. In the video Prof. Schmidt focuses on the advantages of using ultrasound in large vessel Vasculitis.
