Extended Focused Assessment of the Sonography Examination of Trauma Patient

Dr Xavier Bobbia, demonstrates how to perform an eFAST examination on trauma patients.

An eFAST (extended focused assessment with sonography for trauma) allows physicians to evaluate a trauma patient quickly. The Venue has an eFAST tool which allows physicians to follow a structured approach to scan the lungs, abdomen and pelvis to exclude free fluid and pneumothorax in these areas.

During this video you will see Dr. Bobbia evaluate the right upper abdomen, the left upper abdomen, the lower abdomen, the subcostal space and the lungs.
