Dr Amit Pawa is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Lead for Regional Anaesthesia at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. He is an Ultrasound Regional Anaesthesia (USRA) enthusiast and completed the first fellowship in Regional Anaesthesia at Guy's & St Thomas' and also holds the ESRA European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia.
In this video Dr Pawa will show you how to use the popliteal approach for the sciatic nerve which is useful for patients who will receive ankle or foot surgery. Dr Pawa uses a high frequency probe to obtain the best image quality and demonstrate the benefit of using virtual convex which allows you to see more of the surrounding anatomy.
