Assoc. Prof. Dr.med. Valentin Schäfer

Valentin is a specialist in general internal medicine and rheumatology and head of the Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University Hospital Bonn, Germany.
His main interest is disgnostic and interventional musculoskelettal imaging, but he also perfoms abdominal, vascular and thyroid gland ultrasound in his position as head of the ultrasound diagnostic unit.
Valentins main research interest is imaging in giant cell arteritis with specific focus on ultrasound in diagnosis of giant cell arteritis. He teaches residents and medical students in ultrasound.
